Now playing center field: Julio Borbon

Rangers manager Ron Washington said Monday that right now Julio Borbon is going to be his center fielder with Josh Hamilton moving to left and Nelson Cruz in right.

Borbon is also going to be the Rangers leadoff guy.

"As we sit here right now he is," Washington said at the Winter Meetings. "We think he's ready for that."

David Murphy would still get plenty of at-bats as a designated hitter and a fourth outfielder.

All of this would change if the Rangers can re-sign Marlon Byrd. But that does not appear likely.
