Rangers Name Candidates for Hitting Coach
The Rangers have narrowed their list of candidates to replace Rudy Jaramillo as hitting coach. They are: former Ranger OF Rusty Greer, former Rockies manager Clint Hurdle, former A's hitting coach Thad Bosley and Gerald Perry who has served at the Cubs hitting coach for the last two seasons. The Rangers will interview all four candidates on Monday.
More on the website later.

Not really that excited about that list of candidates. Hopefully they make the right choice. Out of that list I think there's only one name that really stands out and every Rangers fan in their right mind knows which one it is.

Of the four... only Thad Bosley has an effective recent past performance in the role of a hitting instructor. Given the complexion of the TEX roster ... with both established and developing batters ... he'd be my choice.
- 3 year performance 1999-2002 as OAK batting coach ... post season 2000-2002
-US Olympic team coach
-Head coach Bethany University baseball team (current)
Perry was just fired by CHC. Failed in a job that Jaramillo was hired to fill. Greer is nice guy and while a popular ex-Ranger has no experience as a coach or an instructor at any level. Hurdle... manager in waiting?
Only logical choice given selection from these four is Thad Bosley.
