Rangers let go three long-time employees
The Rangers have let go three long-time employees: veteran scouts Mel Didier and Jay Robertson and equipment manager Zack Minasian.
Minasian has been with the Rangers for 21 years as the visiting clubhouse manager and the Rangers equipment manager. He moved from the visiting clubhouse to equipment manager in 1995.
Didier has been in baseball for over 60 years including the last six with the Rangers. He helped build World Championship teams with the Dodgers and the Diamondbacks.
Robertson has been with the Rangers in 2001 and came over with general manager John Hart from the Indians.
Zack doesn't deserve this....what, he made too much money? sorry, sorry, sorry.

Seriously TR what happened? Make too much money? He put the bats in the wrong spot. Mel has forgotten more things as a baseball man than JD will ever know. I don't get this, especially the Didier and Minasian. Can you offer any reasoning behind this?

Why were these guys dismissed? You tell us about three guys we rarely hear about being dismissed, but you don't offer us a reason for their dismissal.

Appears to be a law suit in the making to me, most likely for age discrimination. Hope there are members of the Texas bar willing to step up and take the case.

I'm going to add my name to the list who would like to know why Zack was let go!! I've been extremely fortunate to have been a friend of his for the last 3 or so years, but in just that short time, he's been awesome!! As a life long fan of the Rangers, and worker in a related field, it's been an absolute pleasure getting to know Zack during this time!! I wish him nothing but the best and sincerely question whether this was a good move by my favorite team!!

I can tell you first hand that many of Zack's former clubhouse attendants are celebrating today. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA! This is great news. You hate to celebrate someone losing their job but this is different. This guy is a complete jerk and deserves worse than just getting fired. CELEBRATE! Beat it Zack!

Even prior to this I'd heard multiple examples of people either saying Minasian was a great guy or a major tool. Who would've guessed that the guy in charge of bazooka and sun flower seeds would be such a polarizing figure?

It looks like the discharge of Robertson allowed for the promotions of Ron Hopkins, AJ Preller, Kip **** and Josh Boyd, all of whom have played major roles in the massive resurgence of the Ranger's farm system.
