Benson outrighted to OKC. Accepts assignment
The Rangers have outrighted pitcher Kris Benson to Triple A Oklahoma. Benson has cleared waivers and has accepted the assignment so that he can be used as a starter. He was 1-1 with an 8.46 ERA in eight games for the Rangers and had fallen into disuse as a mopup reliever
Benson will be replaced by Jason Grilli, who was acquired from the Rockies on Tuesday.
The Rangers also placed Brandon McCarthy on the disabled list and promoted pitcher Guillermo Moscoso from Oklahoma City.
