Rangers trade Laird to Detroit
The Rangers are close to a deal that would send catcher Gerald Laird to the Tigers for Minor League pitcher Guillermo Moscoso plus one other player. A club official said the deal was "likely" to happen.
Moscoso, 25, was 5-4 with a 2.70 ERA in 21 games between Class A Lakeland and Double-A Erie. The Tigers have been one of several teams that have been interested in the Rangers catching. <p />
The development took place on the first day of the Winter Meetings on the same day that outfielder Milton Bradley has declined an offer of arbitration from the Rangers.

Is Moscoso closer to major league ready than Holland/Feliz? It seems this deal would raise the value of Texas's other catchers because now they have moved the one catcher they had to move. Teagarden and Saly would make a nice tandem this year and if you trade Blalock you have Ramirez who could DH with Salty backing up first base if need be. What do u think?

Maybe a Texas catcher will end up in Boston.
