Hunter for Padilla
* The Rangers are pushing Vicente Padilla back to Sunday because of the inflammation in the right side of his neck.
* Tommy Hunter is pitching on Thursday.
* Kevin Millwood will come off the disabled list on Friday and pitch against the Rays.
* Matt Harrison on Saturday.
* Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who is starting tonight at catcher, has told the Rangers that he wants to go to winter ball and get some playing time. The Rangers also want German Duran, Brandon Boggs, Travis Metcalf and Chris Davis to play winter ball as well.
* Somber day around the Rangers. They need Luis Mendoza to show something, either his turbo sinker or a good breaking ball to go with it.

I am doing this off sheer memory but here goes TR: "The Rangers need 35 wins from Padilla and Millwood." Ha, ha, ha. So far Padilla is 12-6 with 23 starts, Millwood, aka Millstone 6-6 with 20 starts. The Rangers have played 121 games with 41 left to play, asuming they are both in the rotation next week, which they won't be, the most starts either of them will get is 8 each. IF, Padilla wins all 8, which he won't he wins 20 games, which he won't. IF Millstone wins all 8, which he won't that is 14 and 6. Now that would give you 34 wins, but not 35. You always have to go 50:50 ratio with this staff so say they split that is PAdilla at 16-10 and Millwood 10-10, 9 games out. THE BEST THING THAT THE RANGERS COULD DO AT THE END OF THIS SEASON is request to be moved to the National League West and compete in that league. IF we were over there we would be in first place as it is the Angels are running away with it and we aren't going to catch Boston, they are proved that on Monday and Tuesday. The bottom line is Hamilton is a great player an MVP candidate, but pitching wins championships and we just don't have any of it on our team.

Salty has yet another passed ball tonight. Trade him now before you further devalue him. How does this sound for trade value, considers himself a major league catcher and is not open to a position change. I am sure the other major league teams will be all over this guy and wanting him to catch for them. Can't catch, can't throw, but he sure is a Cougar fan evidently.

1. Kevin Millwood is obviously not a righthanded Mickey Lolich.
2. The pitching really seemed to go to hell in a handbasket with the firing of the pitching and bullpen coaches. The timing of the firing was odd to say the least. Why at a point when the team (if not the pitching) was exceeding expectations? It obviously disturbed CJ who promptly lost it emotionally and physically. If management thought it was eventually needed ok, but why couldn't they wait?
