I am not trying to make a case for the "good ole days" although some of the old days did seem better (at least now). But why is it when a pitcher gets bombed like Padilla or can't throw strikes like Gabbard we get informed that they are injured? Is the reporting better now? Were pitchers in the past unaware that they might be hurt when they pitched poorly? Since there seems to be a link between poor performance and injury why not establish a penalty fine for a player that discloses an injury after the fact? The accumulated fines could be donated to charity.
I'm just glad Padilla is out of the rotation even if it is just for one start. I just hope that he can put up one more good start and then get traded. He is a nut case and is not the best pitcher in the rotation. I would much rather see Harrison take his spot. As for Hurley, I hope he will be ok and best to be extra carefull.
