ham deserved it

Awesome month. Like Steve Busby said last night, if Hamilton didn't win the award there should be an investigation.

Congrats to Ham. He is player of the month with awesome numbers. The bottom line is Volquez is 4-1 and that has more of a direct impact on the teams record than one all-star future right fielder.

Dgod:

You never fail to see the Rangers' glass half empty. Nice fan support.

Still a JERK.

d(GOD) will never say anything postive about the Rangers because they don't do thing the way he wants. Notice he never talkes about the games the team wins only their defeats. Danks lost tonite BTW. Padres are in last place. I will take a player that will play everyday over 1 pitcher.
Hamilton will have more of an impact that Volquez will ever have on his team.

Jared please don't insult the rest of the Ranger fans by calling d(DOD) a Ranger fan. The only thing he is a fan of is his opinion which he is entitled to but the rest of us are entitled to reply to his garbage.

I know it sticks in his craw to congtatute Hamilton on winning the player of the month because per d(GOD)
"once an drug addict alway an addict".

fbatts hit the nail on the head with his comment.

You know, people who want to try and complain about the Josh Hamilton trade (like dwid) need to get a life.

Not only is Volquez pitching in the NL, where there's a free out every 8 batters, he recently came out and tried to blast the Rangers for sending him back to A-ball last season - the very thing that allowed him to re-tool his curveball and become a better pitcher.

I'm sorry, but considering we got Josh Hamilton in return, we don't need a pitcher with a punk attitude like that in our organization. There's plenty of good pitchers in our system right now - Hurley, Harrison, Main, Kiker, Feliz, Fabio Castillo, just to name a few. I think we can live without Volquez and his attude.

He definitely deserves it. So much is made of his offesive stats but he plays an above average defensive game as well. That catch the other night was a highlight reel special, but he tracks balls down all over the place. His arm is something for opposing runners to think about when trying to take an extra base, he has a couple of assists already.

He gets MY better pitches to hit

Has driven in every runner on third with less than 2 out in every chance he has had, talk about an example to hold up for situational hitting.

He keeps Milton Bradley loose.

He sets a bar for David Murphy to shoot for.

Hes putting up those offensive numbers in a new league where he is seeing most of the pitchers for the first time. That is what is amazing to me.

His value on this team is far higher than what we gave up to get him.

Ham is awesome... Period end of story. At least the Rangers have something to show for that trade. Unlike Danks, Gonzalez, Soriano, and Young fleecings. Ham is going to Right Field soon enough though. He is the MVP on this team so far. I admit it. I never said the guy couldn't play, wished him well. I just believe that you don't build your team around this guy, because that is going to be too much pressure on him. Let him play, let him be a part of a bigger team. STOP TRADING OUR PITCHING PROSPECTS NOW THAT THE MESSIAH IS HERE.
