It may be awhile before Jason comes back to haunt the Rangers. Perhaps the next time the Rangers call him up.

The move to put Cat on first base should help offset the lack of production at a key offensive position.

Read that Ken Griffey, Jr is in his final year of a contract. At 38 years it may be time for him to move to first base.

I am sure Jason aint to happy not to have been claimed and/or traded for. Is there really anything else for him to prove at AAA? If you aren't going to play Salt at first, aren't going to call up Davis, aren't going to play Cat there, then Botts should have gotten the at bats in the major leagues. Is our goal to develop young major league players for the future or win now with Cat and Broussard? That is what is grinding on me. I don't care if we win or lose if we develop Duran, Murphy, Hamilton, Botts, Boggs and any other guys that are the future of this team. Even with the turn around are we really going to be any better than .500. We are fastly approaching the managers winning percentage of .434, boy am i excited. We are winning against inferior teams. Wow.

At least we are able to call some teams inferior at this point. I'm all for sticking with the development plan. The Botts move annoys me, but take it for what it is. Personally, I don't know why everyone thinks he is the future. As Rangers fans, we are obviously the only ones who are in love with this guy, or someone else would have picked him up. Maybe one day he'll get it.

Not surprising. He is a DH only player who hasn't been hitting at the major league level. Jason has much to prove. He needs to tear apart triple A pitching in order to get another last shot at the majors.

This is too bad for Jason. A change of scenery probably would have done him a world of good. Although since no one claimed him, that should send a message as well. He needs to become more versatile. He will hit given opportunity but needs to shed the 4A DH label. In order to do that he needs to go back to work and find a defensive position and become ready to play it every day. The hitting will come.

Adding insult to injury is the roster situation in OKC. Playing time there may be just as hard to get as it was in Arlington. Maybe the Rangers ought to let him go to Japan for a while, if even possible.
