Mendoza ailing

Luis Mendoza complained of a bad shoulder after Wednesday's game. The Rangers aren't happy they just found out about if after the game. Could be headed to the disabled list. More on the website.

This story - sorry outing- go to disabled list is getting tiresome. It's sorta like celebrity hits tree goes to rehab. At least the Rangers can't go any lower in the AL.

Quote from Dgod "I hope they lose another 10 straight..." Guess he would be pleased with Mendoza.

Isn't this a simple game? You hit the ball, you throw the ball, you catch the ball...

1. Wash is a nice enough guy but a manager he ain't! we had the chance to hire a home town guy with a great pedigree but we passed on him and KC got him.
2. I was in Boston for two of the games and watched these kids during BP, there is no sense of urgency, no grueling extra work, the losses don't sting enough, and Jaramillo, am I the only one that can see you've given up?

3. Our owner and GM have dealt us a pretty bad hand as well. They want us to believe JD is so highly regarded in this business but let's set aside the Gagne deal and evaluate this guy. How would Adrian Gonzalez be fitting in right now? Could we use another 15 game winner like Chris Young? What do we have to show for this trade? Eaton and Otsuka are down the road and they got Sledge as a throw in! Carlos Lee? Only the astro's look worse. Could we use the two big league pitchers(Danks,Masset) we gave the white sox for a guy(McCarthy) that couldn't even make their post-season roster? Are we rebuilding or not? One week we are and the next we're shipping out our pitching. I like Hamilton, but Volquez was our future wasn't he? Would Carlos Pena look good in the middle of our line-up?
4. Ben Broussard.... Come on, enough already! He ain't the future!
The bottom line: Our upper management is more to blame than our field manager, but he needs to be replaced too. we need someone with a little fire! What's Rusty Greer doing for the rest of the summer? But I'm sure we'll just fill in with Narron as an interim. Not a bad guy, but drastic times call for something out of the ordinary.

I want to win, it ain't gonna happen with Daniels and Washington combo. I want Daniels fired, because he has been setting Washington up to take the fall since late last year. He has been distancing himself from Washington, trying to separate himself. NOLAN don't forget THIS IS DANIELS HIRE. HIS DECISION. Other than Gagne, so far, Daniels deals have been collossal failures. If any of us performed this way in our jobs, we would have been fired. When Daniels gets fired, who would have had the worst impact, hurt the franchise more, Hart or Daniels? Hire someone who knows that this game is about the starting pitching. Danks, Volquez, Young, Galarraga, Gonzales, not so much in that order but pretty close. You don't trade your top pitching prospects, Danks is a stud, Volquez maybe. Hey TR, who said Volquez was a middle of the rotation type of pitcher? They are wrong and should be fired! I hear the Young WHINE, i want to win, i want out, get me traded. The face of the franchise will be showing his backside as he exits the door. Who is the GM? Who is the manager? Less than 20 games into this season, with 140 something games left, the Rangers are out of it and they are going to be forced to say the word REBUILDING! I love it. Wash and Dan should have been fired last year, so we could be that much further in the process. Hey Ranger players and manager, the game lasts 9 innings. They act if they get up 5 runs the game is over, well not with this team. We are about to see if Nolan is running this team, if Daniels is fired, then this is Nolans team. Saturday April 26th is the termination day, NFL draft and Hicks can go gently into that night. WE stink! Is it really a surprise?

You know it's bad when the video highlight of last nights game shows Young scoring on a wild pitch (big deal). I'd call that a lowlight. After hearing a sports talk show wondering if the Tigers have finally broken out of their funk, they said "naahh, it's just because they're playing the Rangers. HAHAhHA". That makes us "officially" a laughingstock. Good news from down on the farm. 4 minor league teams are a combined 51-24. Take away Bakersfield and they're 42-13.

Here's mmy 2 cents about Ron Washington. He talks a good game and he's a great guy, but he must be held accountable for the product on the field. Jon Daniels has given him some talented players, not all are major league material but most are, but they are not prepared to play. That is very evident. Therefore, he must go. He has no emotion on the field. Example: I can't remember which game, but Laird was clearly safe at second base but was called out. He was obviously safe yet Washington never came out to argue the call. The players need their manager to step up in that situation but he didn't. When he does argue calls, it's just a "how do you do" type of conversation. That is just one of many examples. As long as he doesn't manage with some emotion and desire to win, his players will play without emotion and desire to win. He's not living up to what we heard when they hired him. Fire him and leave the hiring of the next guy up to Nolan Ryan.

While I never like to see anyone loose their livelyhood, its time for Wash, a nice man and probably a good thirdbase coach, to be gone for all the reasons mentioned above. Daniels too. This team is a reflection of its manager's guile and right now there is none. Someone always takes the fall for failure in professional sports and its usually management as the first to go. After this happens these players had better get it together or they might be gone for a steppingstone in the rebuilding process. Some of them might not care about, or more importantly, might even want that. That is a problem, but do we really need players that are just waiting to be gone by the trading deadline(Texiera)? The clubhouse culture has to change at the Ballpark. After the manager and gm are gone its time for these players to be held accountable for their play. No more Mr. Nice Guy, Nolan, can only help speed up this process.

I concur, no one likes to see anyone get fired. However, the reality of the world is if you don't produce, you are gone. Moreso today than ever before, it is a what have you done for me lately? Never before has there been as much unanimty on this blog as what is going on right now. My only question is what is the holdup, why the delay? Ship Wash back to New Orleans and Daniels back to Cornell University. Daniels can maybe get a professor job up there teaching management. The course would cover topics on how to deplete your assets or how not to run an organization or don't let that positive outward attitude mask someones qualifications, or don't do what i have done. Nolan should have fired these guys as soon as he was hired. Now is the time to cut your losses. We are already behind. Don't wait til we are 20 games out. Any season ticket holders out there that are happy right now? How much were ticket prices increased again this year? Wow you guys are really getting your moneys worth. Ha ha, Washington is what he is, there is no fire in his belly. This is a COMPETITIVE sport people. I am tired of watching our guys getting their ***** handed to them every night. Is anyone with me?
