The Rangers have signed left-handed pitcher Mark Redman to a Triple A contract. He will pitch for Oklahoma on Tuesday. The Rangers have called up Mike Wood and optioned reliever Scott Feldman.
Redman will be a servicable pitcher for us. He is left handed and can't be any worse. We need a new GM, Manager and owner. What is it going to take to get these things? Any ideas?????
Redman was available last year, as a free agent...we were silent. He'd go cheap, was with the worst team in the major leagues..no not the Rangers--the Royals, and was left-handed. Wonder why he slipped all the way to being a triple-A pitcher for such a pitching-starved team? Oh well, I'll give JD credit for this one. Let's only hope he might win a game or two before he goes to the DL, like the rest of the team has.
Signing a veteran pitcher to a minor league contract couldn't hurt us any worse than what has happened thus far this season, but are we just completely playing "optimist-ball" now. I mean is JD just making moves to make the fans happy in anyway he can at this point. Let's call a dead duck what it is and start getting back on track toward the future! Let what few kids we have left play and see what comes about.
His era is just about 12...I suppose that's about his shoe size too. Another retread rather than a front line pitcher to go with current staff of...yadda yadda yadda.
Cool. I remember when this guy was the ace of an OU staff that won a national championship before I was old enough to shave. If I'm not mistaken the Rangers drafted Buckey Buckles, the closer from that same team. Jamey Wright, Mike Wood and Bruce Chen. Now Mark Redman. I get the feeling that we're not too far from pulling Jose Guzman out of the Spanish language broadcast booth and seeing what he has left in the tank.
What a surprise, signing a pitcher that doesnt have a good track record????
