Choo avoids disabled list for now

The Rangers are not going to put outfielder Shin-Soo Choo on the disabled list with a sprained left ankle. He will not play again in Oakland and will be re-evaluated in Seattle. It is not a high ankle sprain, which is a more significant injury.

The Rangers instead designated pitcher Hector Noesi for assignment to make room for Nick Martinez. That also opens up a spot on the 40-man roster in case the Rangers want to call up an outfielder from Triple A at some point. Bryan Petersen and Brad Snyder are candidates but not on the 40-man.

Noticed Martinez had the same foot position as Scheppers in the “set” position. Seems to be counter to alot of traditional thinking. Wonder if the Rangers have someone in the minors teaching that as a technique?
