Lewis waits on Beltre, who has a mild quad strain.
Third baseman Adrian Beltre has been diagnosed with a mild strain on the left quad muscle. The Rangers are holding off putting him on the disabled list. The Rangers will wait through the weekend to see how Beltre progresses.
The Rangers are bringing back Colby Lewis to the rotation but are waiting until either Monday or Tuesday. If Beltre goes on the DL, it creates a roster spot for Lewis. If Beltre stays active, the Rangers have to make a move to open a spot for Lewis. So the Rangers, with Thursday being an off-day, have some time to wait on Beltre.
Lewis has been told and is not taking his out even though he won’t be activated until early next week.
