Roster set…Adduci over Kouzmanoff

The Rangers have set their final roster

Jim Adduci won a spot off the bench. Kevin Kouzmanoff has been assigned to Triple A Round Rock. The Rangers needed Adduci’s speed and left-handed bat off the bench.

Shawn Tolleson and Seth Rosin have won the final two bullpen spots. Daniel McCutchen and Ryan Freierabend have been sent to Round Rock.

Josh Wilson and Donnie Murphy have won infield spots. No official word yet on who will be the Opening Day second baseman. Adam Rosales will be designated for assignment.

The Rangers will carry three catchers for the first four games: J.P. Arencibia, Robinson Chirinos and Chris Gimenez. That’s because they don’t have to add Nick Martinez to the Major League roster until Saturday. He has temporarily been assigned to Double A Frisco.

Yu Darvish, Matt Harrison, Geovany Soto and Jurickson Profar gone on the disabled list.

It looks like Saunders can throw all day, but with the same results. We need Lewis and Yu to get well fast.

Aduuci and Choice were both 300 hitters at AAA; that says alot.

A slow start by our heroes and they tread water through April. They bottom out in late May. June starts on a .500 for the month pace, which will be an improvement, but the Rangers begin to find themselves in the middle of the month. At the All-Star break the Rangers are as hot as the weather in Texas and T.R. expresses caution on the optimism until we see how the team responds after the break. The team continues to play mistake free, efficient ball coupled with strong pitching from the now set rotation and a bullpen set in their roles. Coming together as a team at the right time, the Rangers chase and catch Oakland in mid August with LA playing great ball as well. Seattle is no slouch and they provide several knock down blows to all three teams in series in Seattle but stay in fourth place heading into September. The Astros are a surprisingly better team and getting much younger at the same time. Could be scary soon. Anyhow, the Rangers save their best ball for September and October, when they are the freshest due to Spring Training and early season time lost to injury, and bury Oakland and LA. October is a sprint to the trophy which the Texas Rangers will hold over their heads after some on the field drama that inevitably comes with a World Series Championship season. There you have it, the story of the 2014 World Champion Texas Rangers!
AL West Champion: Rangers 92-70.
World Series Champion: Rangers in 7.
