Last call from the Desert…Dodgers 2, Rangers 1
Rangers pitchers allowed just three hits on the afternoon, two by starter Martin Perez. Wilmer Font has made four appearances this spring without giving up a run. Pedro Figueroa has not allowed a run or even a baserunner in three appearances.
Shin-Soo Choo had a double in three at-bats on Friday and is 3-for-15 for the Spring. Said manager Ron Washington: “He’s been centering a lot of balls. He doesn’t have much to show for it bu the guy works hard. He wants to be good. I’m certainly happy with the way things are going for him, the way he’s starting to swing the bat. Most of the balls he’s hitting hard have been against left-handers which is a good thing.”
Rangers were 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Michael Kirkman had three scoreless innings and has not allowed a run in six innings. Said Washington, “I’m just going to go by what I see. How the stuff is working. How his mental outlook is and see what happens. I just want him to pitch well because I want them all to pitch well and make the decisions on us tough. But I’m not thinking in terms of I’ve seen this before and this happen because one time you might do something and the next time you figure it out.”
Jurickson Profar was 1-for-3 in the game and 9-for-25 this spring. He leads the team with 10 RBI.

The thing I like about Spring Training is the first game…and the last game.”
