Soto is Rangers No. 1 catcher

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels and manager Ron Washington said Geovany Soto is going to be the No. 1 catcher.
“He is our guy,” Washington said.
The Rangers will look for either a backup or a second catcher with the offensive ability to play another position, possibly designated hitter.
Maybe that’s Brian McCann, maybe not. Hard to believe McCann would sign with the Rangers if he is not the No. 1 guy.
Stay tuned but right now Geovany Soto, like the University of Alabama football team, is No. 1
