Nolan Ryan to retire

Nolan Ryan is retiring at the end of the month. The announcement came down today

“This is the right time for me to step down from my role of overseeing the Rangers organization,” said Ryan. “I am extremely proud of what this organization has accomplished. On the field, we have enjoyed great success at the major league level. The fans have supported us in record numbers the last two years and we have been able to upgrade the ballpark and enhance the in-game experience to reward that loyalty.”

Say it isn’t so Nolan! Owners beware. I am pulling my season tickets as of now. You made your choice when you let JD take over.

Nolan Ryan is the face of the Rangers. He is an icon. The Rangers became a team to watch when he joined them. JD and company this will be a major blow on the Rangers at least to those of us old enough to remember the days of baseball legends without the bolches next to their names.

When Nolan leaves so will I. He is the best thing that happened to this club since they came to Texas. Really a bad move for owners and the fans
