Rangers designate Baker for assignment

The Rangers have designated infielder Jeff Baker for assignment. The move allows the Rangers to activate pitcher Matt West off the disabled list and place him on the 40-man roster. Baker is eligible for free agency after the World Series anyway so this is just a procedural move.

This move allows West to pitch in the Arizona Fall League. He missed the entire season while recovering from Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery.

We need to bring Baker back next season, they already killed my fantasy of having an outfield with a Butler a Baker and a Candlestickmaker in it. Admittedly the third Guy was going to be a little harder to find.

Too bad for Baker. He was a good stick, but hard to trust in the field. Still want to know who did the damage to his thumb.

I think Daniel and Washington should have been the two that was released. Washington has lost more games that could have been won If he had his mind on Baseball and not on sunflower seed and MPC.

I am 82 years young and watched the Rangers long before either were in Baseball.

Another problem, Tom and his reading off all Birthdays, last year it was all the cookies. Get a grip and stay with Baseball. Thanks

It’s Butcher, Baker and Candlestick Maker! Put Kinsler in Left field he is the butcher for all the errors he makes in the field. Baker in right well as the Baker. The Candlestick Maker in center field could be Martin, because I heard that is what he does before he came over on the boat!
