Rangers take second baseman in eighth
The Rangers selected College of Southern Nevada second baseman Evan Van Hoosier with the 250th overall selection in the eighth round.
Van Hoosier hit .369, 65-for-176, in 52 games with five home runs and 33 RBIs this season. He had a .454 on base percentage and had a .608 slugging percentage.
He committed a team-high 16 errors. His .923 fielding percentage was the lowest on the team.
Van Hoosier is the first second baseman and the third middle infielder selected by the Rangers.
