Harrison dealing with bad back
Pitcher Matt Harrison said after Monday’s game he will try to throw in the bullpen on Tuesday. If that goes well, he could still start on Thursday against the Mariners.
But the back has been a problem for a couple of weeks and the Rangers may have to put him on the disabled list to allieviate the problem.
Will he be able to make his next start?
“I don’t know right now,” Harrison told Jim Reeves on Monday night. “I know I couldn’t go if it was tomorrow.”
Justin Grimm would likely be brought up from Triple A to start on Thursday if Harrison can’t go. Derek Lowe is another possibility.
