Did Derek Lowe make the team?

Yes I’m pretty sure I just heard that Derek Lowe made the team. He’s supposed to fill the Scott Feldman role on this year’s club.

Lets hope the veterans blocking the way of Olt and Profar can be productive and not just in the way

Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus are in the way lets get rid of them give me a break.

no, its a dominoe effect. Bergman and Piernzynski are the vets. Olt would have gotten his at bats mainly at dh. Now Berkman is the dh except when A.J. dh’s which will be more the hotter it gets. A 36 year old catcher can’t be expected to catch more than 120 games at most in this heat at that age

Have you paid attention to spring training so far Olt hasn’t looked all that good at the plate he looked good in the field but your talking about DH’ing him. He’s got a good glove he needs to be in the field an also needs to be at triple a so he can play all the time not sit around then DH him.

You act like Berkmen an Piernzynski are gonna choke they’ve been an won the world series. Olt is 24 an outstanding 3rd basemen who needs to play everyday in the field at Triple A. .

Have you paid attention in the fact that a guy named Beltre plays 3rd and will be there for years to come. Why not let him get some at bats at dh and start to make the transition to the outfield where he will likely play next year because Cruz and Murphy are BOTH free agents and the Rangers won’t resign both

Instead the Rangers signed a guy who was ready for retirement and no other teams looked at because he had TWO knee surgeries and played 32 games last year

Piernzynski is coming off a career year nad can’t be expected to do that again. He will realistically put up his normal number of around .275ba , 12-15 dingers and 50-55 rbis and not walk at all with a bad onbase%

Don’t believe Beltre will ever go along with leaving 3rd base .. which leaves many questions :
why send Olt down to third (maybe to concentrate on hitting); if Beltre doesn’t progress to the outfield next yr., who will be out there – maybe Moreland, Gentry, Martin, and Murphy. Olt comes up to first, if the Gallow(sp?) kid doesn’t get there first.

Beltre to the outfield next year ???? why would possibly the best defensive 3rd baseman of alltime switch positions?? Yes, Cal Ripken Jr. said he thought Beltre was better than Brooks Robinson
