Rangers scout Lohse; cuts made

The Rangers are among the teams who have a scout watching free agent pitcher Kyle Lohse throw simulated games here in the valley. The Rangers have not shown serious interest in Lohse so far this spring so this may be more due diligence than anything. The Rangers appear more concerned about their bullpen than their rotation. Lohse is throwing at a community college in the hopes of signing with a team at some point.

The Rangers sent pitchers Ben Rowen and Lisalverto Bonilla to the Minor Leagues along with infielder Yangervis Solarte. The Rangers also released catcher Konrad Schmidt.

The only comment I have about those send downs is I think Solarte going down means the Rangers pick up a short stop from the waiver wire or trade..
