Harrison throws well in B game
Matt Harrison pitched two innings in a B game against the Royals and allowed two runs. But he said he felt great and had no issues the toe on the left foot that had been bothering him. His next start is Saturday against the Dodgers in Surprise, the first of three starts he has left in Spring.
The Rangers haven’t announced their Opening Day pitcher yet. But if Harrison starts on Saturday and pitches every fifth day after that, he would pitch on Thursday March 21 against the Angels on Tuesday, March 26 against the White Sox.
That would put him in position to start on Opening Day, March 31, against the Astros in Houston.
The Rangers also announced that pitchers Neil Ramirez, Justin Miller and Jacob Brigham, and outfielder Joey Butler were sent back to the Minor League camp.
Craig Gentry was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup with a stomach bug.
