Blue Jays claim Hottovy
The Blue Jays have claimed left-handed reliever Tommy Hottovy off waivers from the Rangers. The Blue Jays may need more left-handed relief candidates if Darren Oliver does not return.
Oliver, who is under contract with the Blue Jays this coming season for $3 million, may retire if the club does not renegotiate his contract. Oliver wouldn’t mind being traded to the Rangers as his family still lives in Tarrant County.
