Young on paternity leave
Michael Young has been placed on paternity leave and shortstop Luis Hernandez has been called up from Triple A. Young can be out for a maximum of 72 hours. Alberto Gonzalez was hit in the hand by a pitch on Thursday night. Hernandez was hitting .262 with eight home run, 66 RBI and eight stolen bases at Round Rock. He last played in the big leagues in 2010 for the Mets.
Young’s wife Cristina gave birth to their third son, Antonio, on Thursday evening.
