Tuesday morning: “Maybe neither”….Soto trade official

So we enter the final push toward the Trade Deadline and the Rangers probably have one more trade in them. They will likely trade catcher Yorvit Torrealba and the Nationals are interested, according to the Washington Post.

But a bigger question is if the Rangers will acquire a starter or a reliever before the 3 p.m. Trade Deadline gets here.

Said one source: “Not sure, maybe neither.”

We know the rumors will come fast and furious in the final six hours as late last night the Rangers were supposed to be in on Matt Garza. That came out of Chicago but this morning they were not. But now they are interested in Ryan Dempster, who, according to a source earlier this month, did not want to come to Texas but wanted to play on the West Coast. One report this morning said that remains true, another said he will approve a trade to Texas.

The Rangers have officially completed the Soto trade with the Cubs.
