Mitch Moreland activated from DL, OF Leonys Martin optioned to Triple-A Round Rock
After missing more than a month with a strained left hamstring, first baseman Mitch Moreland was activated from the disabled list Monday. To make room for him on the roster, outfielder Leonys Martin was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
Moreland was hitting .272 with 10 home runs and 25 RBIs in 55 games before being placed on the DL. His .513 slugging percentage is the second-highest on the team, behind Josh Hamilton’s .576 mark.
In 15 games, Martin batted .189 with six extra-base hits — four doubles and two triples — and five RBIs.
