Rangers could settle for reliever
The Rangers aren’t optimistic that they will be able to reinforce their starting rotation from outside as the Trade Deadline approaches. From what sources are saying, James Shields and Josh Johnson just aren’t going to happen. The Rangers don’t believe Shields will be traded by the Rays and they aren’t that high on Johnson.
The Rangers could focus more on adding a reliever that would allow them to move Alexi Ogando into the rotation. Right now that seems to be the most likely option at this point if they want to do anything with their rotation. Scott Feldman takes a four-game winning streak into tonight’s game with the White Sox.
