Oswalt scratched…Lewis doubtful
The Rangers have scratched pitcher Roy Oswalt from Monday’s start with tightness in his lower back. Scott Feldman will pitch. Colby Lewis remains questionable for Tuesday with tightness in his right forearm. Lewis will not throw in the bullpen today.
The Rangers don’t think Oswalt is serious but he has a history of back problems.
All of this comes as the trade deadline is approaching. Club officials were hoping the Rangers wouldn’t have to get involved in a big trade for starting pitching.
Now it appears the Rangers will have to look hard at the trade market to see if they can reinforce their pitching. Their scouts are out looking at starting pitching.
