All-Star, Rangers pitching plans…Darvish last man standing
Rangers manager Ron Washington said Justin Verlander will likely pitch two innings on Tuesday night. The plan is for him to be followed by David Price and Jered Weaver.
Yu Darvish could be the “last man standing” for the American League since he hasn’t pitched in eight days. That means he would be the last pitcher used in case of extra innings and the American League needs somebody who can pitch multiple innings.
Washington said Fernando Rodney could be his closer in the ninth inning but didn’t say for sure.
