Justin Grimm optioned to Frisco, will start Monday before going to Round Rock
To make room for Derek Holland on the Rangers roster, Justin Grimm was optioned to Double-A Frisco Saturday.
Grimm, who went 1-1 with a 10.80 ERA in his first three Major League outings, will start in Frisco Monday before going to Triple-A Round Rock. In his big league debut, Grimm gave up three runs in six innings, earning his first Major League victory in a win over the Astros June 16. He gave up six runs in one-plus innings during a loss to the Tigers June 25 and surrendered three runs in three innings in his first relief appearance as a big leaguer Tuesday against the White Sox.
Holland, who is 5-4 with a 5.40 ERA in 11 starts this year, will make his first start since being placed on the DL with shoulder fatigue June 7 Saturday against the Twins.
