Harrison, Nathan make AL All-Star team; Darvish left off but on Final Vote
Matt Harrison was named an All-Star for the first time in his career while Joe Nathan will be going to his fifth All-Star Game.
Harrison is tied with fellow All-Star David Price for the AL wins lead with 11. Harrison’s teammate, Yu Darvish, has a chance to tie him but was left off the AL All-Star roster.
However, Darvish has a chance to earn a spot on the team via the Final Vote. He is joined on the AL Final Vote ballot by Jonathan Broxton, Ernesto Frieri, Jason Hammel, and Jake Peavy.
Harrison is 11-3 with a 3.16 ERA in 16 starts this year while Darvish is 10-4 with a 3.57 ERA and 106 strikeouts. Joe Nathan has converted 18 of 19 save chances this season while striking out 42 and walking just four batters.
