Andrus, Kinsler going to All-Star Game as AL reserves
Ian Kinsler and Elvis Andrus made the All-Star Game as reserves. It will be Kinsler’s third All-Star Game and Andrus’ second. They both made the All-Star Game in 2010.
Kinsler is batting .276 with nine home runs, 40 RBIs, and a Major League-leading 60 runs. Andrus is hitting .305 with 31 RBIs and 16 stolen bases, the fourth-most in the AL.
The Rangers will have at least seven players representing them in Kansas City at the All-Star Game. Mike Napoli, Adrian Beltre, and Josh Hamilton will start while Matt Harrison and Joe Nathan also made the team.
Yu Darvish did not make the team but is one of the five players on the AL Final Vote ballot. Nelson Cruz, who was fourth in the AL All-Star outfield voting as of the last balloting update, also did not make the team.
