Rangers select C Charles Moorman in the 17th round
The Rangers picked El Capitan High School catcher Charles Moorman with the No. 546 overall pick in the 17th round.
As a senior, Moorman batted .369 while scoring 28 runs and driving in 25 more, posting an on-base percentage of .489 and a slugging percentage of .660. He hit .330 with 28 RBIs and 26 runs as a junior.
Moorman is the second catcher selected by the Rangers this year, joining SUNY Stony Brook catcher Hunter Cantwell, who was taken in the 3rd round.
