Beltre leaves game strained left hamstring

Adrian Beltre left Saturday’s game when he injured his left hamstring on a second-inning double. He was replaced by Alberto Gonzalez. No word get on the extent of the injury but Beltre missed five weeks last summer with a pulled left hamstring. Right now he is listed as day to day.

Is it too soon to bring up Olt

Here we go again with hamstrings…Beltre first, can Cruz be far behind? Need more electrolytes, maybe. I hope they call up Mike Olt and give him a taste of MLB. An early cup of coffee against the Yankees will really motivate him to get back up. They could put Uehara on the DL for 15 days to make room on the roster. Uehara is not earning his $4 million salary. I would like to think we could have gotten something better for Chris Davis and Tommy Hunter than Uehara, who has stunk up the mound since we got him last year.

Putting Uehara on the DL doen’st clear a spot on the 40 man roster. There’s no reason to interrupt Olt’s development when the Rangers already have 3 players on the active roster besides Beltre that can play third base.

Agreed hefe! @Kenneth and Paul: The days of rushing young players to the bigs is over for this very deep franchise. Olt will get his time when it is time. It’s not time. Also, his time may come with another team, but of course that will mean that this team needed and got something for another championship run.
