Rangers still not expecting contract extensions by Opening Day
The Rangers continue to discuss a contract extension with second baseman Ian Kinsler but right now no deal is in sight. Club officials on Wednesday maintained their stance. General manager Jon Daniels said on Tuesday that he does not expect any contract extensions to get done by Opening Day and as of Wednesday that hasn’t changed. The Rangers open against the White Sox on Friday and Kinsler does not want to negotiate during the season. He is signed through this season with a $10 million option for 2013.
