Oliver agrees to a one-year deal with Blue Jays
Left-handed reliever Darren Oliver has agreed to a one-year deal with the Blue Jays with a club option for 2013. The deal is pending a physical but the two sides have agreed to terms.
Oliver appeared in 61 games for the Rangers in 2011 and was 5-5 with a 2.29 ERA that was the 11th best among A.L. left-handed relievers. He has been in the playoffs for six straight seasons with the Mets, Angels and Rangers.

Oliver will be missed more than a lot of Ranger fans realize. Left-handed relief must be addressed.
i will miss Ollie just like a pooch a miss that troublesome flea.
lets not get carried away here. i would much rather have the sandwich pick in next years draft.
i can still see those 83 mph 2 seamers from game 6 in my nightmares.
Oliver looks like Sandy Koufax compared to the other lefty relivers on the free agent market. In the middle innings of a game when Ron Washington goes out to the mound to pull his starter in a key situation he can’t bring in Not Oliver to face Dustin Ackley or Bobby Abreu.
Are you speaking of koufax of 1961 or 2011 ? . . i knew Toronto would”nt just sit quietly and let the Darvish salvo go un answered.
But all joke aside he will be missed, this is a good get for Toronto.
Carlos Quentin is a good get the the Pads too.
