Cubs and Red Sox To Interview Mike Maddux for Manager Position

The Rangers have granted permission to both the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox to talk with Rangers Pitching Coach Mike Maddux about their open managerial positions.

Maddux has been the Rangers Pitching Coach for the past 3 years.

More on the website later.

Good luck if this is what he wants but, who would we replace him with ??

This reminds me of when we had Rudy Jaramio…and lost him. Took us a long time to recover. Really like the Maddux approach to the pitching problem…hope we do not lose him!

Not sure how this fits with Theo’s refusal to interview Ryne Sandberg because only candidates with Major League managing experience will be considered. Missed Mike’s managing career.

This would be a big loss for the Rangers organization. Maddux has played a huge part in transforming our staff from one the league’s worst to one of the best, and there is plenty of work left to do considering we will probably be losing CJ and with other young pitchers needing to make the transition from the pen to rotation or from minors to the bigs. Hope he stays but i trust Nolan to find an outstanding replacement for him. good luck Maddux.
