Beltre wins Gold Glove; Northern Illinois beats Toledo

Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre won his third Gold Glove, it was announced late Tuesday night.  He also won in 2007-08. Ian Kinsler was a finalist but did not win.

The announcements were supposed to be made at 9 p.m. on ESPN2 but were delayed by the college football game between Northern Illinois and Toledo. That affair lasted over three hours and forty-five minutes

Northern Illinois 63, Toledo 60

Toledo blew it by not using timeouts. My Jeep Liberty was manufactured in Toledo. Beltre is far and away the best third baseman the Rangers have had since Buddy Bell.

But Toledo needed to use more timeouts.

All good things come from Toledo.

Congratulations to Adrian. Well deserved. He’s an outstanding player.
