O’Day recalled…Teagarden optioned
The Rangers have recalled pitcher Darren O’Day from Triple A Round Rock and optioned catcher Taylor Teagarden. O’Day was 1-0 with a 2.21 ERA at Round Rock in 17 appearances. This gives the Rangers eight relievers.

Probably best for Teagarden since he has not been playing much. Is it about time to label him as a bust. I don’t think he has the bat for the bigs.
Well you’re probably right Rodney but Ron Washington likes to play with 3 catchers…esp when one of them is the DH….That’s what Teagarden brought to the team. If say Torrealba was catching and Napoli DH’ing and Torrealba goes down…you bring in Teagarden rather than having your pitcher hit. There’s method to what Ron Washington does.
