Martin is official
The Rangers have signed outfielder Leonys Martin to a five-year, $15.5 million contract. He goes on the 40-man roster. It includes a $5 million bonus. He will remain in extended Spring Training for now but will likely start at Double A Frisco. He is a Cuban defector who has a reputation of being strong defensively and a possible leadoff hitter.
