Yankees Make Offer To Cliff Lee

SI.com reports the Yankees have submitted a contract offer to LHP Cliff Lee for 6 years, $140-$150 million dollars.  This could be tough for the Rangers to top if they won’t go more than 5 years. The Lee negotiations will likely go beyond the Winter Meetings, his agen Darek Braunecker has left the meetings.

But the Rangers are exploring other options beyond Cliff Lee.

Update:

Yankees GM Brian Cashman confirmed that they have made an offer, but did not confirm the terms.  Lee’s agent Braunecker has gone back to Arkansas to confer with Cliff Lee.
