Sunday morning: Guerrero, rotation, Holland..

Some quick notes from the Rangers workout…..

* Manager Ron Washington said that Vladimir Guerrero will play the outfield in San Francisco. Washington said it will likely be just one of the first two games. He hasn’t decided which one.

* Washington confirmed Cliff Lee will pitch Game 1. He said Colby Lewis and C.J. Wilson be his next two starters. But he said he has not decided who will pitch Game 2 and who will pitch Game 3. During the first two rounds, Wilson pitched ahead of Lewis. That might change.

* The Rangers have not announced a fourth starter. It could be that right-hander Tommy Hunter will be replaced by left-hander Derek Holland for Game 4. Washington said the Rangers have not made a decision on that yet.

* The Rangers might add a right-handed reliever. The Giants lineup leans to the right. Mark Lowe is a possibility.

* This from Rich Rice: The Rangers are the first A.L. West champions to go to the World Series since the Twins in 1991. The Angels won the World Series in 2002 but were a Wild Card team that season.

I hope they do not add Lowe to the roster. He has looked anything but sharp to me. Go with the ones “that brung you guys.”

With the pitcher batting I’d think we’d add another bat for pinch hitting.

I suspect the decision on the game two starter might depend among other things on how Wilson”s blister is.

Hey guys…thanks for getting this far but can you see your way clear to four more wins?

It is great to see that you have added consulting Washington about rosters moves to your criticisim of others! All i know is that i hate bandwagoners. Hey Greenberg wanna make an impact? How about purchasing all those tickets off Stub Hub and distributing them to the people who know a little bit about Baseball. You can start with the cinco who advised about 3 or 4 year ago that we should go with younger players and stay committed to that. While i remember it, some don’t. I remember saying that Cruz was going to take that next step and to be patient with him. Daniels put him on waivers folks and luckily no one claimed him. I love Josh, but Nellie was super clutch and put the nail in the coffin in Game 6. If Vlad is sitting out a game in SF, that at least gives us a right handed power bat on the bench. When Daniels thanks his scouts for his sucess just who was it that said Cantu could play? Is he the kind of guy who has to play every day to be successful? Just what has Francouer done? Going forward next year we need another right handed power bat who possibly plays first base. Any suggestions and i think Lee stays after he gets his two victories in the W.S.

You hate Bandwagoners? You two faced jerk! Whoops that’s not politically correct. Go back and see who I predicted would win back in March or April. I stuck with these guys all season…where were you…licking your wounds from all the friends you made on here while “trolling?”

It still shocks my concience that some big city Police Department would hire you….The last I read from you and “newstrajerksus” said the Rangers would get rid of Hamilton and Young because they were such deadbeats. Who’s the fan here?

And by the way you and the cinqo were wrong because we traded those players…You never even saw Andrus, Harrison and Feliz on the horizon because we didn’t own them… You talk about Cruz and being waived…he deserved it! Thanks be that it probably woke him up…We weren’t the first organization to tell him to get with the program. Oh and I think Hamilton and Young took us to the barn and we all know how you feel about them.

I know how much you respect Ron Washington…I like him but…I’ve heard that before in the South and I know what that means. Jerk!

“You can start with the cinco who advised about 3 or 4 year ago that we should go with younger players and stay committed to that. While i remember it, some don’t.” – What I remember is the proccess that put this team where it is starting with the Teixeira trade and you bitching about it every step of the way while suggesting moves that would’ve set the franchise back, making what’s going on now impossible and changing your mind about players multiple times within a season.

“Just what has Francouer done?” – Hit .340 down the stretch, had a huge RBI in game 1 of the ALDS. The dude’s had a total of 18 at bats in the 2 series. That’s a pretty small sample. I guess you’d rather have the super valuable Joaquin Arias back. I’m sure he’d have contributed mightily to the club this postseason.

“When Daniels thanks his scouts for his sucess just who was it that said Cantu could play?” – Probably a different scout than the one that told him Evan Reed doesn’t have a usable secondary pitch at age 24. I’m sure Daniels realized on his own that Omar Poveda will require 40 man roster protection soon and is recovering from elbow surgery. It’s always entertaining to see crybabies like you focus on moves like this one, ripping Daniels and the scouting departement that put a team in the World Series on one of the smallest budgets in the game. It’s proof positive that some people aren’t happy unless they have something to whine about. And for all your malcontented complaining you want Chuck Greenberg to foot the bill for you some playoff tickets because you’re too cheap to get your own or didn’t have the forthought to get a hold of some earlier. “Hey, Chuck Greenberg, please subsidise my poor planning.” – bm.

“I remember saying that Cruz was going to take that next step and to be patient with him. Daniels put him on waivers folks and luckily no one claimed him.” – You’d think as much as you reference this move in your pesssimistic little rants that the Rangers actually lost Cruz. It was a calculated risk putting him on waivers to get him some more time in the minors to develop and it worked to perfection. Yet, surprise, surprise, more bitching. Cruz wouldn’t even be here in the first place if Cordero hadn’t been dealt, a move that you’ve decried at least a dozen times. I guess you can have your cake and eat it too when it comes to second guessing and complaining. That way you can grouse about the aquisition and NOT losing of an eventual All-Star as though it makes sense.

I love me some Vlady, but this is the World Series. Sit Vlad down for the NL games and play Francour. We won’t lose anything on hitting and we gain a lot in the outfield.

By the way, I am grateful that we aren’t discussing who’s on first anymore. Moreland is the future of the Rangers at first.

I think you’re right about Moreland. He may never make an all-star team or hit 35 homers, but he should be a good solid everyday first baseman for several years. He’s got a great eye at the plate, something the more talented Chris Davis is lacking.
