Lee scratched for Tuesday
The Rangers have scratched Cliff Lee for Tuesday. Scott Feldman is the leading candidate to replace him against the Blue Jays.
Lee continues to show improvement from a strained muscle in the right side of his lower back and threw off the mound in the bullpen on Sunday. He could pitch Tuesday but the Rangers want to err on the side of caution. He probably won’t pitch until next Sunday against the Yankees.

Is it just me or do our Rangers look like they are defeated before the games start? I’ve noticed something different about this team over the past few weeks. They don’t seem to be having fun anymore. Have they mailed it in thinking they have the division wrapped up, or is there something else going on? Maybe the pressure is intensifying and they are not dealing with it well. I don’t know, but who is the leader on this team that will call the team meeting and challenge everyone a la Dave Valle? I know they are hit by the injury bug, but they have had injuries all year and players have stepped up and still gotten the job done. Finally, I’ve seen all of Cantu, Guzman, and Cora that I want to see. I would rather see Davis and German than those three. Maybe I’m over reacting as a fan, but something just doesn’t feel right when I watch this team over the past month.
I’d say the Team is tired. A lot of mental baggage, plus a big lead… it’s adjust and regroup. Cantu is not making a FULL swing. A lot of arms there. It’s not the swing norm for him. Is he hurt? Guzman is coming around… not sure where Cora fits in. Murphy continues to amaze, while .360 Josh is injured. Yep, Wednesday’s Win, against Jay’s, showed fight & guts.

Anyway, why is Wash continuing to put Guzman in the lineup? All year long, he has given players a chance, but as it got closer to realistic that they would make the playoffs, he has not hesitated to sit down or move a player to Triple A if they were not getting it done.
Guzman is in the lineup last night after Blanco went 3 for 4, and hit nothing. He looked awful at the plate, as he has since he was acquired. Yeah, he made a nice play on the line drive, but he made a horrendous error early in the game that could have cost them.
Wash – Sit Guzman, and don’t put him on the playoff roster!
