Pedro Strop recalled
The Rangers are calling up pitcher Pedro Strop. He will join outfielder Jeff Francoue and infielders Cristian Guzman and Ian Kinsler with the Rangers on Wednesday. This is the first batch of September callups.
Strop, 25, will be in his fifth stint with the Rangers this season. He has posted no record with a 13.50 ERA (8 ER/5.1 IP) in 6 relief outings with Texas this season, spending the rest of the year with Oklahoma City (AAA).
His other big league stints were May 15, June 1-4, July 1-9, and Aug. 14-17. His last major league outing was Aug. 17 at Tampa Bay. The converted outfielder has gone 1-2 with 13 saves and a 1.91 ERA (9 ER/42.1 IP) in 39 relief appearances at Triple-A, holding opponents to a .203 (32-158) average with one home run, 14 walks, and 57 strikeouts.
