Rangers acquire Guzman from Nationals

The Rangers, according to a Major League source, have acquired second baseman Cristian Guzman from the Nationals for prospects.  Guzman would give the Rangers a front-line second baseman to fill in while Ian Kinsler is on the disabled list with a strained left groin muscle.

Guzman, an 11-year veteran, is hitting .282 with a .327 on-base percentage and a .361 slugging percentage in 89 games and 346 at-bats.

According to a source the Rangers will trade two minor league pitchers to the Nationals – one of those pitchers is RHP Ryan Tatusko, currently at AA Frisco, where he is 9-2 with a 2.97 ERA in 100 IP.

The other is right-handed pitcher Tanner Roark, who was 10-5 with a 4.20 ERA in 17 starts and five relief appearances at Double A Frisco.

Well this solved one thing…we no longer need Arias and after Kinsler comes back we no longer need Blanco. Cantu platooning at 1st and 3rd. Guzman at 2nd and short. Moreland at first. What a heck of a line up. I think I love it better than any other team we’ve put on the field. JD has figured out that if you win the fans fill the seats. Nice job by the Ranger’s administrators.

exactly, and honestly we havent lost any BIG names besides smoak.

we still have Schepplers,Perez,Font, and many others.
