Golson Designated For Assignment; Greene Added To Roster
The Rangers have designated OF Greg Golson for assignment in order to make room for INF Khalil Greene who was added to the 40 man roster.
Golson played in one game with the major league team last season, he appeared in 123 games for the AAA Oklahoma Redhawks batting .258

I keep counting the Rangers’ roster, and I keep coming up with 41 players. They have 24 pitchers, 3 catchers, 7 infielders (counting Khalil Greene), 6 outfielders (not counting Greg Golson), and Vlad as the DH. Does the MLB allow 41 players on the roster during the off-season?? What’s going on?
Are you counting Colby Lewis? He is yet to be technically approved by MLB so he does not yet count against the 40 man roster.
Somebody still has to be removed from the 40 or traded for the Lewis signing to become official……..Inglett? Mendoza? Arias?
