Rangers to scout Ben Sheets
The Rangers are among the teams that will be in attendance on Tuesday when Ben Sheets throws for scouts at the University of Louisiana-Monroe, according to club officials.
Sheets is a free agent who missed all of last year after undergoing flexor tendon surgery on his right elbow just before Spring Training.
The Rangers had worked out a two-year agreement with Sheets a year ago but that deal was nixed when it was determined that the veteran right-hander needed surgery. As many as ten teams are expected to be at the workout to watch Sheets throw. Sheets was 13-9 with a 3.09 ERA in 31 starts for the Brewers in 2008.
