Rangers meet with agent for Ben Sheet
The Rangers have met with Casey Close to discuss free agent pitcher Ben Sheets. He may still be a tough sign, even though he missed all of last year with a torn flexor tendon in his right elbow that required surgery. In any case, he’s not likely to sign anytime soon. Word is Sheets is only throwing off flat ground and only from a distance of 60 feet. That makes it seem questionable that Sheets will be ready to go by the beginning of Spring Training.
