Rangers meeting with Oliver's agents
The Rangers are expected to meet with left-handed reliever Darren Oliver’s agents here at the Winter Meetings sometime Tuesday night.
Oliver was 5-1 with a 2.71 ERA in 63 games with the Angels in 2009. After years as a starter, Oliver re-invented himself as a reliever and has become one of the best left-handed setup guys in the American League. He was with the Rangers from 1993-98 and again in 2000-01.
Signing a left-handed reliever increases the chances of moving C.J. Wilson from the bullpen to the rotation.
